Overview 
The FHIR Engineer will be responsible for keeping up with Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources industry trends.

Responsibilities 
Responsibilities will vary by position and client specifications, here’s an example:
  • Employ and maintain FHIR endpoints 
  • Handle FHIR messages  
  • Piloting implementations of FHIR/HL7 proposals 
  • Monitor products to ensure there is no cybersecurity risk 
  • Safeguard sensitive data 
  • Digitally extend appropriate FHIR access to customers, partners, and vendors 

Requirements 
Requirements and experience levels will vary by position and client specifications, but the following skills and experience are helpful:
  • Experience with FHIR
  • Experience with FHIR standards, emerging systems integrations technologies, analysis, design, programming, and implementation planning
  • Experience with Python 
  • Experience in web development 
  • Experience with APIs 
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases 
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure 
  • Experience with data streaming. 
  • Experience with Linux/Unix Command line 
  • Experience with HIPPA and HITECH
